Michael J Wray plays the role of Victor, a shy college freshman struggling with debilitating social anxiety and loneliness. Michael is currently a student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
Alexandra Rose Horton is Abbey, a menacing spirit who died at college in the seventies and has haunted the dorm for decades. Alexandra Rose is a recent graduate of the University of Florida with a BFA in acting.

Dead Roommate was written and produced by father-son collaborators CJ and Zachary Maxwell, who have been making movies together since Zachary was a child. Their earlier “kid documentaries” have screened at festivals worldwide and received widespread media attention, with features in The New York Times, Newsweek, and NPR, as well as appearances on NY1, WABC, Good Day New York, TEDx, Good Morning America, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Dead Roommate marks their final project as students at New York University, with Zachary graduating with a BA in Film Production and a BS in Marketing and CJ completing an MA in Media Producing.

Chris Chan Roberson has been teaching cinematography and editing at Tisch School of the Arts since 1999 and served as the Executive Director of Post Production for over two years. Recently he helped with the unionization efforts by full-time contract faculty. From 2012 through July 2014, Chris worked at YouTube as a Producer and managed YouTube Space NY. In 2024, Chris wrote and directed his first feature film, Eleanor Slaughter, a mockumentary about a musician who uses the wrong hashtag and accidentally makes someone else famous. It won over 25 awards, including Best Picture at 12 different festivals, best director and screenplay at three different festivals.
Currently Chris produces media with Thom Woodley through their company Unprecious Studios.
